Sorry guys, not getting any traffic in the backside of the board. What are your experiences with these three brands, mini dads? Are they all equally as cheaply made or is one more durable than the other? Which has the most potential for hop ups? I think it comes down to preference and how deep your wallet is.
I think they are all equally competitive. Ktm has a really good trackside support program, so that is something to consider. Wallet is thin as hell that is why durability is a huge issue. With the thin wallet that would probably eliminate the polini.
Proabably have to import the parts myself or fab them. Are you talking about 50's or 65's? My kid never raced the 50 class thank god but I have announced at a track for the past 5 years and by far the Cobra and KTM Seniors are the one to beat in the 50 class.
In the 65's so far the KTM is dominant but the Cobra is gaining popularity. I will say this neither choice is cheap if you are racing the 50 class. Be prepared to have plenty of spare clutches and even a spare engine or two if you are seriously racing the 50 class.
Those bike burn through clutches in the muddy weather like nobodys business. The 65's seem a little more reliable. Just my observations. If you plan on racing, spend the money and go with Ktm. As I said in my previous post, the track support is second to none. I dont believe cobra or polini offer anything like that. Thanks, man, yeah, 50's. I am kinda leaning toward the cobra. They look more durable and I can pick one up used the same or less as the KTM's and from what I have seen they are moving in the 50 class.

We aren't doing any am nats. I bought a KTM 50 for Joey a few years ago. The worst bike I ever owned. Cobra has track-side support with their semi rig at all major amateur nationals, and then some i. LL qualifiers, other popular races, etc. Moreover, they support all kids, and work on bikes for any customer I've seen the line of bikes with my own eyes.
The guys that work for them are incredibly nice and down to earth, second to none when it comes to support IMO. As a small, American-made company, they are able to move quickly and make adjustments to their bikes from year to year, rather than someone like KTM that is half the world away, and a much larger company with more SKUs to keep track of. I checked out both KTM and Cobra and one reason I chose KTM was that I found a lot of the so called "dealers" of Cobra at least in my area were mostly daddy dealers and there wasn't any parts, bikes or support available from them.
But that is my experience. You will pray for the day you move to 65's either way!Astm c94
I thought this was a four stroke world? My son raced the 50cc class last year on a Yamaha TTR Just put in gas and go racing. He even won one overall against all the polini's, cobra's and Ktm's.The most frequent numbers I'm seeing are.
I could find nothing in the manual that came with the kit. No videos at least in English on dong the Ring Gap procedure on this kit. Without getting snarky, can someone share the best gap to aim for on a new kit with a clear designation of thousandths or mm? Much thanks to Treats, they got it to me overnight with out me asking. Was a nice surprise. I was surprised that it came in such a small box. I guess without a head they aren't too big. One of the threads mentioned this table was geared toward water cooled motors, not really our AC 2 strokes.
Both those numbers are way outside the. And since these numbers are in between, that has led to my confusion over whether they are inches or mm.
The posts were not clear.
I also read that the cylinder should "drop through", but it takes some pressure to move mine in the cylinder. Is that true for yours? The machine work looks very nice for sure. What head are you using? I also read. What I do is first mount the cylinder and head at lb then mount the intake after cylinder is locked in. I absolutely love polini kits, had so many I lost track.
I got a new one from my co-worker will because he kept on seizing it and was over it. I was skeptical because the new ones casting all dull and not all nice n shiney like the old ones I grown to love.
I consider my co-worker a tad better tuner than myself so I was hesitant. Good kits, just goop the base and intake real nice, copper for the head. I heart polinisPicture credits - Polini.

True enthusiasts therefore opt for guaranteed quality from a reliable supplier. You will find that quality in our webshop. Regarding to material choice, we offer aluminum and cast iron cylinders. The advantage of cast iron is the relatively lower price.
Also, a cast iron cylinder does not need to be driven warm for long. Aluminum cylinders, on the other hand, are generally 'faster' and show less wear, which means they last longer.
