We are no longer supporting TapaTalk as a mobile app for our sites. The TapaTalk App has many issues with speed on our server as well as security holes that leave us vulnerable to attacks and spammers. It fired up in the very cold F temps the last couple days.
But, I noticed another issue. None of the idiot lights are coming on at start up or when high beams are activated, the oil pressure, overtemp, High beam, etc. I don't recall them ever coming on and I was thinking they must come on at startup as a check. The manual refers to them and does not give any info that would indicate they could be toggled off. So anyway, I thought I'd check the fuses.
I don't have a shop manual so don't know if there is a separate fuse for the "idiot lights". The 2 white gauges and the Yamaha light come on below the idiot lights on the cluster. I went to check the fuse box and discovered you have to take the hood off to get to it?
HOW TO: Install an aftermarket fuse box
So now after multiple problems on a brand new sled stripped screws, missing seat heater switch, defective battery now a partially dead gauge cluster. I'm getting a bit frustrated. The dealer has been taking care of me but I have more miles on my trailer than the sled so far. Can anyone tell me if there is a separate fuse for the idiot lights, so I don't have to remove the hood just to check the fuses. I did check the owners manual and of course no reference to the fuse block.
Any advice appreciated. I did not expect it to be that bad. So far not at all impressed but need to dial it in. Currently My SXR would kill this sled in cornering.
I'm lbs, 6'-1". Any advice on where to start to get the massive push out? Sled is stock. Messages: 19, Location: Manitowoc,WI. It seems like the back end is hooking up like glue and the front wants to lift at even at a blip of the throttle. So pulling the front end up is nice, but with the skis off the ground or one of 2 it pushes badly. What is the first step to get less back end transfer hookup without mods. If I could get the back end to break loose a little easier I think the skis would be more effective and get the pivot to get me around the turns.

Fuse Box Access
Each had unique engineering specs, power capabilities and intended uses. But despite this great variety between different models, Yamaha's troubleshooting tips remain nearly identical for all of the company's four-stroke outboards.
Yamaha includes troubleshooting tips and specific part requirements in the owner's manual for each of its outboard motors. Use the Yamaha outboard's starter.
If the starter motor doesn't engage and the engine doesn't turn over, the electrical system may be at fault.Father portugal sspx
Check to see if the main fuse has blown on electric-starting models. To access the fuse, unscrew and remove the electrical cover on the top of the outboard and remove the fuse holder with a pair of pliers. If the connection at the center of the fuse is broken, the fuse has blown. Replace it with one of the same amperage, as listed in the "Specifications" section of the Yamaha outboard owner's manual.
Check the battery next. The battery should be located somewhere within the watercraft, separate from the Yamaha outboard in a secure and dry location. Disconnect the negative black cable first and the positive red cable second. Remove the battery from its housing. Scrape away any corrosion from the battery terminals using a wire-bristle brush. Clean away debris or other buildup using a solution of one cup of water and one tablespoon of baking soda.
Dry the terminals thoroughly with a clean rag before continuing. If the battery is damaged, replace it. Reinstall the battery and battery cables, connecting the positive cable before the negative one. Try the outboard's starter again. If the starter motor still will not engage, have the electrical system inspected by a Yamaha-certified mechanic.
Check the fuel system first if the engine has problems starting or running. Ensure that there are adequate fuel levels in the gas tank. If not, refuel with unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 86 or higher. Check the fuel lines connecting the outboard motor to the fuel tank.
If any breaks or leakages are found, immediately stop use of the outboard motor and take it to the shop for repairs. If gummy or watery fuel is found, have the fuel tank drained by a Yamaha dealer to remove any contaminated gasoline. Check the engine oil levels next.Log in or Sign up. Hello Guest. We'll need a fuse box. It's a reboxed Littelfuse brand going by the part number BP. Here we go. Here are the steps Remove Seat. Remove Right-Hand Access Cover exposing battery. Disconnect battery. Unscrew old fuse block. Note fuse sizes and wire colors. Pry open metal wire retainer ring at the base of oe fuse box. Place zip-ties around left- and right-hand wire bundles and unwrap tape. Cut wires at crimp joints. Take new fuse box and position it for mounting, making sure all the wires will reach their respective terminals.
Strip wires and install female insulated spade terminals. Tape wires bundles and attach terminals to fuse box. Using the two 8x1" screws, mount the fuse box. Install fuses and dust cap. Reconnect the battery. Install side cover and seat.
That's it. You're done! Note: It occurs to me that if you have a tool caddy you'll want to make sure you allow room for it. Notice how I've bent the spades a little to make the connections a little more convenient. I still need to label the fuses.

RickCoMaticSep 5, You may want to mention its not a bad idea to get a box with some extra panels in it so in the very least you can store some spare fuses in case of an emergency. BylsmaSep 5, Greetings, I was running through my neighborhood in my CC DS this morning and happened upon a garage sale.
Out in front of it was a Yamaha electric for sale. I ran home, picked up my check book and returned. Folks were all over it, but I asked the new owner of the home, if it was still for sale. She said "yes" and I said "I'll take it.
Or rather, I purchased it for my wife. She always get the newest of any purchases. It was garage kept, beautiful, with a Sunbrella enclosure. It also has Trojan batteries. I know nothing about Yammies, so I knew this was the best resource for assistance. Question no. The motor has the round plug on it, with the wired pigtail coming from it. WHAT kind of system do I have? It has 8" wheels on it, with the standard size tires, so I also assume that I can get a bit more speed by replacing the rear tires with taller ones?
What ever information I can get will be appreciated. It's a pretty dark red car with some gold pen striping. Other than the wheels, I see very little bling I can install to make it any better looking. I might put a Harley Davidson logo on the front. Today BGW. Sponsored Links. Re: Yamaha G22E?? I don't know of a magnet change that will change anything. A Yamaha dealer can change the regen setting for alittle more speed, but not much. If your car has a "GE" not a "Moric" controller you can change to a high speed motor to get about 23 mph. Larger tires will get you alittle speed, but not much. Metallic red is still one of my favorite color options. Since this is your wifes car I'm shure there will be money available for upgrades.
Good point regarding my "wife's" cart finding a bit of extra funding for upgrades. I drove the cart a bit today, to add air in the tires and to pick up a few items at the grocery store.
Hated the way it slows itself down on slopes and whenever I take my foot off the pedal. My old CC DS coasts freely. In this community, if you are not doing 20mph, you have old seniors passing you constantly.Lyft hack
I will crawl under the cart tomorrow to see which controller it has. Most likely, I will invest in a faster motor or have this one rewound? It's a real well maintained cart, and looks new.
